My clinical practice has expanded, and I am pleased to offer you the opportunity to work with some amazing clinicians. Our personal approach in psychotherapy is based on your needs, struggles and stressors. We do not believe in simply offering one method of treatment for all problems. The clinicians that are now part of Advocating Hope will reflect the same approach and treatment.
The clinicians have completed training for a variety of styles of treatment, including Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative and Interpersonal Therapy. I am a resource to these clinicians and together we will explore your needs to embark on a healing journey of personal growth and improved mental-wellness. I will personally continue to support clients who access services through NIHB.
Jennifer will be joining us this September
Welcome to Advocating Hope, where we come together in a safe space to learn, explore, and build achievable goals addressing what you need in therapy. It is my intention to meet you where
you are at, approaching each session with empathy, kindness, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. This means I walk alongside you ensuring you feel supported, as we all know the human experience can be both enriching and challenging. I acknowledge the courage it has taken for you to be here now and the commitment you have made to this process.
Individual Psychotherapy for Adults
My approach to individual therapy includes being fully present, creating a safe, and trusting space. My sessions are built from a person-centered approach acknowledging your expertise in your own life experiences. I draw from various other approaches including Mindful Self- Compassion (MSC), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). One-on-one therapy is meant for any individuals who are coping with issues like later stage life transitions (menopause, perimenopause, retirement, chronic illness, elder care, caregiving), anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, and other challenges.
Couple’s Psychotherapy
Couple’s counselling is for people in relationships who want to address and regain their connection, love, and passion for and amongst each other. Relationships include married, common-law, same-sex, polyamorous, those living together or separately. Therapy is meant to support concerns like communication challenges, identity, unresolved problems from the past,
trust, decision-making, trauma, grief, loss, life transitions, and other issues.
Please contact me for a consultation to discuss how we can work together. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a trusted partner on your team as we find your path towards change and healing.
One of my passions in my practice is offering support and guidance to others who are carrying out the profession of psychotherapy.
My 20 plus years of experience in providing psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children with a wide range of mental health and situational duress has been valued by the MSW and psychotherapy candidates who have had their placements with me.
I enjoy sharing my skills, knowledge and experiences with new practitioners. clinical supervision goes well beyond the academic expectation of the profession of psychotherapy. It is simply a good clinical practice to have a supervision component in your clinical practice. It affords you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental venue to reflect and learn.
